TDF 2020 Other Markets
A selection of other bets.
My usual look at the weird and wonderful world of the other markets to bet on in the Tour de France. For once, there is a wide selection of bets to look at and there is often value to be found, if you dig around a little.
To win a stage / Not win a stage
Edvald Boasson Hagen to NOT win a stage.. 1/8.. ok, it's a silly price, but that's free money..
Alejandro Valverde to NOT win a stage - 3/10.. Valverde's reign looks to be coming to an end, unless he gets in a break some day and outpsrints his rivals on an uphill finish I can't see him winning a stage against the opposition here.
Elia Viviani to NOT win a stage - 3/10.. I can't see him beating Bennett or Ewan on any given day at the moment and there are only about 4 sprint stages where he should feature..
David De La Cruz to win a stage - 6/1.. He was allowed go in the break in stage 4 of the Dauphiné, with Pogacar in the GC hunt, he might be allowed to go away in breaks here too. He finished 2nd to Kamna that day, so showed he had really good legs on the climbs, but not just that, he also took ALL of the five KOMs out on the course, including the HC climb, beating Alaphilippe and de Gendt to the points.
That got me thinking, he could well have a crack at the KOM in the Tour too, and the 33/1 with Unibet caught my eye. Even the 25/1 he is in other places is worth a go, he might have been signalling his intentions and desires to the team that day to let him go for it in the Tour instead of riding for Pogacar every day. 0.5pts e/w at 33/1 for KOM added.
Lennard Kamna NOT to win a stage - 33/100.. I think this is a bit of an over-reaction to his stage win in the Dauphiné, his first ever win as a pro. The Tour is going to be another level and I don't know if he can repeat that performance. If you get worried some day he's in a break, you'll probably be able to back him in play to cover.
King of the Mountains Matchbets
Adam Yates to beat Thomas De Gendt - 3pts at 13/10 with Unibet.. We've already plumped for Yates in the KOM competition and he says himself he's going to be going for stage wins. Those stage wins will be days in the mountains, so he should rack up more points than TDG I think who will ration his efforts to a smaller number of days.
Add Roglic to beat Buchmann at 3/10 to make it a 39/20 double - 2pts on that.
Add Carapaz to beat Aru at 3/10 to make it a treble at 14/5 - 1pt
Add Barguil to beat Latour at 4/9 to make it a four-fold at 23/5 - 1pt
Points Competition Matchbets
Bonifazio to beat Greipel and Nizzolo to beat Colbrelli - 2pts on the double at 5/4
Add Impey to beat EBH at 2/5 to make it a 43/20 treble (all with Unibet) - 1pt at 43/20
Overall Head to Heads
This is a match-bet for the duration of the Tour, who will finish the higher of the two. If just one rider finishes he is declared the winner of the Match-bet, but if neither finish, the bet is void and you get your money back.
Pinot to beat Buchmann and Dumoulin to beat Carapaz - 2pts on the double at evens with Unibet
Add Pogacar to beat Lopez - 2pts on the treble at 19/10
Guillaume Martin to beat Martinez - 1pts at 21/20
Ilnur Zakarin to beat Domenico Pozzovivo - 3pts at 8/13 (Pozzo is still recovering from injury, I think Zakarin will have a better Tour than him)
Higuita to beat Kamna - 2pts at 13/10 - I think the Colombian will beat Kamna, who might have some fun in breaks some days, but I can't see him finishing in the top 15-20, where I think Higuita will be.
Team Classification Head To Heads
EF to beat Bora and AG2R to beat Mitchelton Scott - 2pts on the double at 17/10 with Unibet
Astana to beat Groupama - 3pts at 9/10.. I think Astana have more all-round quality to score more consistently
Best Finishing Position
Not many of the 'best finishing position' bets really interest me, most are too obvious and short-priced, but Mollema to beat Porte in the Trek battle interests me a little, as frankly, in a chaotic and crazy Tour, Richie is bound to find trouble along the way, isn't he? He might not even make it to Paris. 3pts at 19/20.
